How the Plumb Guard works
The Plumb Guard™ is an advanced safety tool that conducts a rigorous self-test upon activation, ensuring all systems function correctly before use. Once initiated, the user attaches the red detection leads to the section of the pipe due for replacement, with the earth lead connected to a grounding stake. An additional shunt cable is employed as a precautionary measure for enhanced safety.
This meticulous setup allows Plumb Guard™ to monitor electrical currents with precision. If it detects a current of 6 volts or higher — the threshold set for potential hazard — the device immediately issues a warning. An audible alarm is triggered, and a light flashes as a visual cue, signaling that the pipes are currently unsafe for work.
Moreover, when synced with a smartphone, the Plumb Guard™ extends its alert system to the user's device, which will sound its own alarm and vibrate, offering an extra layer of notification. This feature is particularly beneficial in noisy work environments where an audible alarm might be missed.
