The app is free to download and use, giving every Plumb Guard user a simple and convenient way to stay connected to their device. For those who need enhanced reporting or job traceability, optional premium features are available, including data logging, email alerts, and secure cloud storage.*

calibrations
All Plumb Guard devices are professionally calibrated prior to dispatch and supplied with a calibration certificate and verification sticker. Each calibration is valid for 12 months from the date of calibration.
To ensure the unit remains compliant and accurate, Plumb Guard should be within its valid calibration period before use. You can confirm your calibration status by:
Checking the calibration sticker located on the top-left corner of the lid, or
Referencing the calibration certificate supplied with your unit
If your device is outside its calibration period, it will need to be returned for recalibration to maintain accuracy and safety compliance.

Once submitted, send your Plumb Guard to us — we’ll recalibrate, certify, and return it promptly.

shunt cable test & tag
Shunt cables (also known as bridging cables or bonding leads) are used for temporary electrical bonding to safely manage stray or induced voltage on water assets before, during, and after repair works. To ensure these critical safety devices remain reliable, they should be tested every 12 months to verify continuity and load-bearing capability.
When tested by the Plumb Guard Team, each cable undergoes a comprehensive inspection, including:
Verification of clean and secure connection points
Visual check for damage or deterioration
Continuity testing to confirm electrical integrity
Load testing to 200 amps to confirm the cable core remains structurally sound and capable of carrying fault current
This testing ensures your bonding leads remain safe, effective, and compliant for field use as part of your electrical safety controls.
In addition to annual verification, shunt/bridging cables should be inspected monthly by trained personnel to confirm both the continuity and physical condition of the cable are suitable for ongoing use.
Please note: Cables that connect directly to your Plumb Guard Unit do not require this monthly continuity test, as the Plumb Guard performs a continuity check each time the TEST function is successfully completed.
